Darwin's Shropshire
The DARWIN BIRTHPLACE Project 2006 - 09
Project Director : Robin Morris
For six years work has been underway, via this partnership, to organise public access to Darwin’s birthplace in Shrewsbury. Working with national funding agencies and The Darwin Birthplace Society, this project will help to implement the Darwin Masterplan towards the bicentenary of the great man’s birth in 2009.
Activities include assisting in the publication of Darwin books and arranging events for the bicentenary celebrations, whilst pursuing the main objective of creating an Education and Visitors’ Centre to celebrate Darwin’s life and inspiration in Shropshire.
“The global prominence of Charles Darwin and his legendary work could bring serious economic advantage not only to Shrewsbury but to the rest of Shropshire and the wider region”
Robin Morris, Director, Morris & Company
