Making Shropshire Stand Out
Shropshire Enterprise Partnership works to help the county attract investment and visitors from both UK and international markets.
THE PRIVATE SECTOR PARTNERS
Retailers, developers, creative industries, technological and professional services invest into the organisation and the combined annual corporate turnover for Shropshire’s local economy from our private sector members is in excess of £150million.
THE PUBLIC SECTOR PARTNERS
Shropshire County Council touches the lives of ALL OF US. The Local Authority runs everything from day care centres to local schools, taking in a huge range of services including roads, museums and libraries. SCC is a major and complex business, one of the largest in the county, with 300,000 individual customers, some 10,000 employees and an annual budget of over £250 million. The council have been judged to be one of the best performing councils in the country and one of the council’s actions to continually improve services encompasses engagement with this Partnership. Shropshire Enterprise Partnership allows the council close interaction with the enterprising people of Shropshire.

Advantage West Midlands
The history of the West Midlands economy is one of reinvention and ingenuity, constantly adapting to changing circumstances and making the most from new opportunities. However, today the region underperforms relative to national and international competitors. In 2005, output per head was 92% of the UK average. This equates to a £10 billion output gap – in other words, the region’s economy would be £10 million richer if our output per head were the same as the UK average.
Advantage West Midlands is the regional development agency working with SEP to help Shropshire contribute to closing that economy output gap.
